9/1: Check out the all-new America East blog, AExtra! It's full of stories, features, videos and more beyond just the boxscore. Don't forget to bookmark it!

8/9: Leading up to the release of the fall sports preseason polls next week (8/16-8/19) we'll be posting a new fan poll everyday this week on our Facebook page so that you, the fans, can tell us who your picks are for preseason favorites. Our first poll of the week is women's soccer... let us know what you think!

8/2: Former Binghamtom second baseman Jim Calderone ('10) and 2009 America East Baseball Championship Most Outstanding Player signed a contract with the Frontier League's Windy City Thunderbolts. Calderone will report for the last month of the season.

7/21: Former Binghamton LHP Scott Diamond is making the start tonight for the Braves' Triple A organization against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the latest example of a former America East player moving up through the minors. First pitch from PNC Field will be at 7:00 and fans can listen to the live audio stream here.

7/19: Another day of action at the 2010 FIL World Lacrosse Championships meant another day of dominance by America East men's lacrosse alums and current players. Stony Brook's Jordan McBride scored six times in Scotland's 17-14 win over the Czech Republic Monday. Elsewhere Corey Small, a 2009 Albany grad, tallied two goals and three assists to lead Canada to a 23-4 win over Germany. Another current Seawolf, Greg Miceli, tallied his first two goals of the tournament in Italy's 13-9 victory over Argentina. Team USA wrapped up the day's action with a 16-8 win over England behind three goals and an assists by Brendan Mundorf and a score by Drew Westervelt.

7/18: Former and current America East men's lacrosse standouts continued to be a force on Day Four of the FIL World Lacrosse Championships Sunday. Jordan McBride, already a three-time first-team All-AE performer for Stony Brook with one year remaining, scored twice for Scotland in its 19-2 win over France. He's tallied 11 goals in the tournament to lead his team to first place in the Turquoise group. Alums Rhys Duch (2 goals), John Grant Jr. (2 goals), Corey Small (1 goal) and SBU's Kevin Crowley (1 goal, 2 assist) led Canada to a 16-9 win over Austrailia to lock up first place in the Blue group. Finally UMBC grads Brendan Mundorf  tallied five goals and three assists while Drew Westervelt scored three times to lead Team USA to a 22-4 win over Germany and a second place finish in the Blue group. Double-elimination action begins tomorrow in Manchester with Scotland taking on the Czech Republic, Canada facing Germany and the United States playing England.

7/17: America East alums had a huge impact on Day Three of the FIL World Lacrosse Championships, combining for 10 of 19 goals scored in Canada's 10-9 win over the United States. Stony Brook grad Rhys Duch tallied three scores for Team Canada, as did John Grant, Jr., the 1999 America East Player of the Year. Kevin Crowley, the reigning league Player of the Year, and Corey Small also scored for Canada, while UMBC alums Brendan Mundorf and Drew Westervelt each found the back of the cage for the USA.

7/15: University of Vermont's Evan Fjeld and Stony Brook University alum Andrew Goba were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court on Thursday. The Honors Court represents men's basketball student-athletes for sustained excellence in the classroom. Recipients must be either a junior or a senior and have a minimum of a 3.2 grade-point average.
