Bergstrom Hired as Assistant Director for Administration

BOSTON --  America East Commissioner Amy Huchthausen announced today that Kate Bergstrom has joined the conference staff as its assistant director for administration. Bergstrom began in her new role on Aug. 10.
 
“We are excited add Kate to our talented staff,” said Huchthausen. “Her work in the corporate world combined with her experience as a student-athlete has her well prepared for the multi-faceted role she will take on as part of our staff."

In her new role, Bergstrom will assist with business operations, office management and sports administration. She will also oversee various championships and assist at several others as well as coordinate conference meetings and special events and provide administrative support to conference staff.

"America East’s focus on providing an innovative and engaging experience for its student-athletes and member institutions is exactly what I was looking for in an organization. I feel privileged to have this opportunity and look forward to learning from such a talented staff.” 
 
Prior to joining America East, Bergstrom spent a year and a half at Brafton, a Boston-based marketing firm, as a business development executive. There, she worked with respective clients on content marketing strategies aimed at gaining more exposure and generating sales opportunities. Before Brafton, Bergstrom was a paralegal at Sullivan & Worcester, LLP in Boston for two and half years.

Bergstrom, a native of San Francisco, earned her degree from Colgate University in 2011. She was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team and served as a captain her senior season.
