Binghamton 3, Bucknell 0 -- Box Score
The Binghamton Bearcats (2-3-0) won their second consecutive game on the road at Bucknell, 3-0.
Binghamton scored in just the 21st minute of the game when sophomore forward Sarah Furminger put a long shot into the upper left corner unassisted, putting the Bearcats up, 1-0. The goal was the first for Furminger this season.
From there, Binghamton never looked back. With eight minutes remaining in the first half, sophomore forward Jamie Holliday scored her first goal of the season on a pass from junior midfielder Mary Dewitte. The goal gave the Bearcats a 2-0 lead going into the break.
Binghamton was not done yet, as Furminger scored again in the 52nd minute, putting the Bearcats ahead, 3-0. Junior forward AnnMarie Rizzi assisted Furminger's goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Carrie Martin started the game in net for the Bearcats. She saved three shots in 82 minutes. She was relieved for the last eight minutes by freshman Stephanie Speirs. Speirs saved both shots she faced.
Delaware 2, UMBC 1 -- Box Score
Though they were able to score first, the UMBC Retrievers (1-4-1) were not able to hold on to that lead, losing to visiting Delaware, 2-1.
The game was scoreless into the second half until the Retrievers took the lead on a goal in the 51st minute by freshman forward Amy Savage, her first goal of the season. Savage was assisted on the score by sophomore forward Sarah Kopytko.
The Retrievers did not keep the lead for long, giving up the game-tying goal to Blue Hens' sophomore forward Ali Miller on a cross from senior defender Morgan Warrington in the 70th minute.
Just over a minute later, in the 71st minute, Miller again caused UMBC some trouble, starting a play with a pass to sophomore forward Melissa Pennington, who crossed the ball to sophomore midfielder Anna Lenczyk for what proved to be the game-winning goal.
The match was the first match at home for the Retrievers since opening the season at home August 20.
