gameday throughout the 2010 season, America East will provide a women's
soccer update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live
coverage, box scores and highlights of select games. Fans can also

Friday, September 10
New Hampshire at Massachusetts, 4 p.m. – Live Stats
The Wildcats will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season when they travel to Amherst, Mass. for an exciting encounter with Massachusetts.
After opening the season 2-0-2, New Hampshire fell to Harvard in a game played at Lewis Fields. The Crimson grabbed the lead in the first two minutes, with Katherine Sheeleigh netting the goal. Harvard pushed its lead to 2-0 in the fourth minute, when Patricia Yau scored her second goal of the season. Despite falling 2-0, freshman goalkeeper Erica Correa played great for UNH, making seven saves in the loss.
UNH will return home for a match up with Siena on Sunday.
Syracuse at Albany, 4 p.m. – Live Stats
Albany will look to pick up its fourth straight victory when it hosts Syracuse on Friday at Varsity Field. The current three-game winning streak is the first for the Great Danes as a Division I program.
Sophomore forward Shayla Bergeron continued her torrid start to the 2010 season, scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Massachusetts. Bergeron scored her team-high fourth goal of the season in the 23rd minute, and the Great Danes held on for the victory thanks to a great performance from freshman goalkeeper Dani Britt. After replacing sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Maggio to start the second half, Britt made four key saves to help preserve the shutout.
After hosting Syracuse, the Great Danes head out on the road for a September 15 game in Hamilton, N.Y. against Colgate.
Boston University vs. No. 22 William & Mary, 4:30 p.m.- Live Stats
The Terriers will be looking to put an end to their two-game losing streak when they face No. 22 William and Mary at the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic.
In its first road game of the season, Boston University fell 2-1 against Monmouth. The exciting match up certainly lived up to its billing,with the Hawks grabbing the lead in the 6th minute courtesy of Dana Costello’s fourth goal of the season. The Terriers tied the game in the 13th minute when freshman midfielder Emma Clark netted the second goal of her career. However, Monmouth earned the victory in the 70th minute with a goal from Mary Wilks.
Following the match up with William and Mary, the Terriers will face No. 6 Virginia in the conclusion of the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic.
Vermont vs. Florida Gulf Coast, 4:30 p.m.- Live Stats
Vermont travels to West Point, N.Y. to compete in the West Point Tournament. The Catamounts face Florida Gulf Coast in their opening game, with this being the first meeting between the two schools.
The Catamounts have lost two straight since opening their season with a victory, including a 4-0 loss to Massachusetts on September 3. Despite the 4-0 scoreline, Vermont played aggressive soccer on its trip to Amherst, Mass. The Catamounts forced Massachusetts goalkeeper Emily Cota to make eight saves over the course of the match. However, goals from four different players for the Minutewomen were too much for Vermont to overcome.
The Catamounts will finish up their participation in the West Point Tournament when they face the host Army Black Knights on Sunday.
Stony Brook at Sacred Heart, 7 p.m.- Live Stats ; Live Video
Stony Brook continues the search for its first victory of the season when it travels to Fairfield, Conn. to face Sacred Heart.
Despite falling 2-0 to No. 10 Maryland in their last game, the Seawolves played some of their best defensive soccer of the season.Freshman goalkeeper Chelsea Morales did an excellent job of keeping the Terrapins off the scoreboard for the majority of the first half, with Maryland not scoring until Danielle Hubka gave the Terps the lead in the 41st minute. Maryland put the game away in the 69th minute when Sade Ayinde extended the lead to 2-0.
The Seawolves wrap up their two-game road trip with a visit to Columbia on September 12.
Princeton at Hartford, 7 p.m. – Live Stats ; Live Video
Hartford will look to close out its three-game homestand with a victory when they welcome Princeton to Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium. The Hawks are still searching for their first goal at home, having been shutout in the previous two home games.
The Hawks closed out the Hartford Hawks Soccer Weekend with a 3-0 loss against Columbia. Hartford was outshot 15-6 over the course of the game, and struggled to generate a strong offensive rhythm. Junior goalkeeper Lauren Brodeur was tremendous in defeat, keeping her team in the game with seven saves.
Following the game against Princeton, Hartford heads out on the road for two games. The Hawks open the roadtrip with a visit to Teaneck, N.J. to face Fairleigh Dickinson on September 12.
