America East Schools Appear in Final Fall Director's Cup Standings
Five America East institutions are ranked in the Division I Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings following the conclusion of all fall sports. Stony Brook (78 points) ranked the highest of the five schools, tying for 72nd. The Seawolves earned points for advancing to the second round of the Division I Football Championship, as well as making their first-ever NCAA appearance in women's soccer. New Hampshire (53 points) which also reached the second round of the Division I Football Championship was next tied for 103rd, followed by UMBC (50 points) tied for 111th after reaching the second round of the Men's Soccer Championship for the second time in three years. Albany (field hockey champion) and Binghamton (volleyball champion) were tied for 154th and earned 25 points.

Former UNH Men's Hoops Coach Named Interim Coach of Milwaukee Bucks
Jim Boylan, who served as head coach at UNH from 1989-1992, was named interim head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. Boylan had served as a Bucks' top assistant for the past four years and has been on an NBA bench since '92 spending stints in Cleveland (1992-97), Vancouver (1997-2000), Phoenix (2000-02), Atlanta (2003-04) and Chicago (2004-08). Six Teams Receiving Votes in Mid-Major Polls
Six America East teams are represented in various college basketball mid-major polls again this week. Boston University and University of Hartford are seventh and 11th, respectively in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Top 25. The Terriers, who have run off 10 straight wins, are also eighth in Graham Hay's mid-major poll on ESPN.com, while Hartford is receiving votes in those rankings. Albany's women's team is also getting votes in the College Insider poll while Albany, Stony Brook and Vermont are earning votes in the men's poll.

Pair of Men's Soccer Standouts Honored for Performance
Two of America East's top men's soccer players from last year have been recognized for their strong play. Stony Brook's Leonardo Fernandes, the three-time America East Striker of the Year, was named Big Apple Soccer's Player of the Year. The senior midfielder earned second-team All-America honors this year after racking up 25 points on nine goals and seven assists. Meanwhile, Boston University's Michael Bustamante is one of 54 players invited to participate in the 2013 MLS Players Combine prior to next week's SuperDraft. Bustamante earned America East All-Conference honors for the fourth time this season.

Two Nominated for Top Point Guard Award
Two America East men's basketball standouts were among a group of the nation's top point guard nominated for the Bob Cousy Award last month. Albany's Mike Black and Stony Brook's Anthony Jackson were among those nominated (Nominee List). Black, America East's active leading scorer with 1,288 points, ranks fourth among America East scoring leaders averaging 15.5 points per game, while Jackson is 11th scoring 11.7 points per game.The Bob Cousy Award is given to the top collegiate male basketball point guard annually spanning across all divisions within the game by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The selection criteria emphasize leadership, team work, success, and fundamentals as being critical parts for the game of basketball as a point guard.
