VESTAL, N.Y. - The third episode of the eighth season of America East On Campus, the conference's half hour
magazine show that examines what's happening around America East on the playing
field, in the classroom and in the community and highlights the league's
extraordinary stories, will begin airing on Friday, Feb. 22 on Time Warner Cable Sports and Comcast SportsNet in New England.
The episode can be seen at 12:30 p.m. on Friday on CSNNE throughout New England and at 11:00 p.m. on TWCS in New York. The show will also have airings on Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) in the country's Mid-Atlantic
Eric Frede hosts this episode from the Events Center at Binghamton University in Vestal, N.Y., and starts things off with a look at possible Player of the Year candidates in Men's and Women's Basketball.
From there, Frede catches up with a pair of throwback basketball players who have led their teams to the top of the America East Conference men's basketball standings in Stony Brook's Tommy Brenton and Vermont's Brian Voelkel.
Frede had time to sit down with Binghamton Athletic Director Patrick Elliott to discuss the changes at the university and the direction that the school and the athletic programs are progressing towards.
Also in Vestal, Binghamton senior wrestler Donnie Vinson, one of the best wrestlers in the country, talks about the wrestling program at Binghamton and his dreams of bringing a national championship back to campus this season.
The America East Presidents talk about what it means to be a member of the conference and what the America East is all about.
Finally, the show moves on to Maine and senior swimmer Nicole Langlois and her story of overcoming breast cancer to get back in the pool.
