Two other games will also take place Wednesday with Albany visiting Boston University and Hartford hosting New Hampshire. On Tuesday, Stony Brook beat UMBC to earn its 20th win of the season.
This will be the 127th all-time meeting between Maine (11-15, 6-7 AE) and Vermont (16-9, 9-4 AE) and the two teams enter the day heading in different directions. The Black Bears have won three in a row, while the Catamounts has dropped back-to-back league games for the first time in over three years. Vermont have won 11 of the last 13 meetings between the two teams but Maine won the first meeting this year in Orono, 71-68.
Elsewhere Wednesday, Boston U. (15-11, 9-4 AE) looks to stay hot when it hosts Albany (19-8, 8-5 AE) at 7 p.m. The Terriers have won four in a row and seven of eight, while the Great Danes can secure their first 20-win season since the 2006-07 campaign with a victory. Hartford (14-12, 7-6 AE) also hosts New Hampshire (7-17, 3-9 AE) at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, Stony Brook (20-6, 11-2 AE) outscored UMBC (6-20, 4-9 AE) 69-16 over the game's final 28 minutes to secure its third 20-win campaign in the last three years. The Seawolves can also lock up at least a share of the regular-season crown with losses by Boston U. and Vermont Wednesday.
