UMBC Sweeps First #AESD Weekly Awards of 2017

BOSTON – America East Swimming and Diving resumed last weekend with several teams entering the pool for the first time in 2017. UMBC and Binghamton both had success in their first meets in more than a month. UMBC topped Howard in a home meet while Binghamton finished second out of eight teams at the Florida International Sprint Invite. Here are the award winners of the week:
 
Swimmer of the Week
Kayla Lilly, UMBC – Sr., Breast/IM, Natick, Mass. 
  • Lilly had a successful Senior Day, winning both the 200 breast and 200 IM against Howard on Saturday
  • She finished the races with times of 2:23.13 and 2:09.15
  • Lilly also finished the 50 free in a time of 25.29, while helping the 200 medley relay team to a second place finish in 1:48.72

Diver of the Week
Abby Biddulph, UMBC – Fr., Diving, Egg Harbor City, N.J.
  • Abby had another strong week, finishing the 1 meter dive with a score of 221.17 and the 3 meter dive with a score of 172.20, good for first and second respectively
  • It is her fourth Diver of the Week honor of the season
