Binghamton's Vloedgraven and Stony Brook's Wijeratne Earn Weekly Tennis Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Binghamton's Sven Vloedgraven (Lochem, Netherlands/Isendoorn College) and Stony Brook's Sandy Wijeratne (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Wesley College) have been named America East Tennis Performers of the Week for the the week ending April 7.

Vloedgraven went undefeated in four matches to take home the men's honor. A freshman, Vloedgraven posted a straight-set singles win over Fairleigh Dickinson at the second position and then moved up to the spot and posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Quinnipiac. Vloedgraven, who also both his doubles matches, is 19-9 overall this season.

Wijeratne, a senior, led the Seawolves to a 3-0 week by going was undefeated in both singles and doubles play. She improved to 16-5 in singles action by posting three straigh-set wins. Wijeratne also won all three of her doubles matches and dropped just one game in each of her last two matches.
