CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Stony Brook's Ivan Rummel (Budapest, Hungary/Altisz Gymnasium) and Binghamton's Anna Edelman (Great Neck, N.Y) have been named America East Men's and Women's Tennis Performers of the Week, respectively, for the week ending April 21.

Rummel went a perfect 3-0 last week, winning both of his singles matches and a doubles match. Against Quinnipiac, the top team in the Northeast Conference, Rummel was part of a doubles team that took an 8-4 win at No. 3. He also posted a straight-set win in singles action. Rummel closed out his regular season 6-1, 6-0 victory over Hartford at top singles.

Edelman, a freshman, swept both her singles and doubles matches this past week as the Bearcats extended their winning streak to five matches. Edelman, who is a combined 49-10 in singles and doubles action this season, won matches at top singles and doubles over Colgate and Albany last week.

Both Rummel and Edelman will be in action at the America East Tennis Championship, which takes place April 25-27 in New Haven, Connecticut. Click here for more information regarding the 2008 Tennis Championship.
