NEW YORK -- Boston University's Darryl Partin, the 2012 America East Kevin Roberson Men's Basketball Player of the Year, was named to the Associated Press All-America Team as an honorable mention choice, the organization announced Monday.

Partin, a senior guard, shouldered the brunt of the Terriers’ offensive load this season, scoring 19.7 points per game, which was second in America East and currently ranks 21st nationally. He also accounted for 31 percent of his team’s output, the highest rate of any player in the league. Partin went over 20 points 15 times this year and twice earned America East Player of the Week honors (Nov. 28, Feb. 13).

Partin, who also earned All-District honors from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), followed former teammate John Holland as the league’s Player of the Year. The duo is the fourth tandem in conference history to  win back-to-back Roberson trophies and first since Vermont’s T.J. Sorrentine and Taylor Coppenrath accomplished the feat in 2002 and 2003, respectively. A first-team all-conference selection during both of his seasons as a Terrier, surpassed the 1,000-point mark earlier this year and finished his career with 1,304 career points, including 1,130 in just 67 games at Boston U.

In addition to Partin, Albany's Gerardo Suero and Stony Brook's Bryan Dougher also earned All-District recognition as each were second-team NABC selections. Suero led the conference in scoring (21.7 ppg) and ranks seventh nationally, while Dougher was Stony Brook's leading scorer (13.2 ppg) and led the Seawolves to an America East regular-season crown and NIT appearance.
