CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -  Albany's Shayla Bergeron totaled four goals and one assist, including netting a hat trick in the team's final game of the season to earn America East women's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21, the conference office announced Monday. Stony Brook freshman Raven Edwards was named Rookie of the Week.

Bergeron (Hudson, N.H.) scored the second hat trick of her career, which is also the second in Albany program history, to help the Great Danes to a, 4-1, win at UMBC on Sunday. The senior scored three-straight goals for the Great Danes trailing, 1-0, to help the squad move up to the No. 5 seed in the America East Championship. In a game earlier in the week, Bergeron tallied a goal and an assist in a 3-3 tie against Maine. She totaled four goals and one assist over two games, helping her finish second in conference games in goals with five.

Edwards (West Orange, N.J.) scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to help Stony Brook clinch a playoff berth on Thursday at New Hampshire/ With 5:06 to play in the second OT, Edwards collected a cross from senior Sa'sha Kershaw and tucked the ball off the underside of the crossbar and in for the win. It was Edwards' third game-winner (and second OT game-winner) of the season, which leads the team.

Notes:
Boston University earned its sixth-straight America East title (fifth-straight outright) and third-consecutive undefeated conference season with a, 1-0, win over New Hampshire on Sunday... The Terriers have won 32-straight against America East opponents... Maine is the No. 2 seed in the America East Championship for the first time since 2005... Hartford is the No. 1 seed for the first time since 2006.
