Nine Men's and Women's Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA All-Academic Status

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Nine America East men's and women's soccer teams earned 2011-12 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Awards for having posted cumulative team grade point averages above 3.0.

Seven teams on the women's side included University at Albany (3.14), Binghamton (3.41), Boston University (3.33), UMBC (3.21), Maine (3.42), New Hampshire (3.20) and Vermont (3.30).

Two men's teams in Binghamton (3.16) and UMBC (3.06). The Bearcats and Retrievers are two of only 148 institutions nationwide to have both its men's and women's teams earn the honor.

A total of 717 college soccer teams (220 men, 497 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.
