Vermont Raises 2012 League Championship Banner Prior to Home Opener Wednesday

Playing at home for the first time this season, Vermont will recognize its 2012 America East championship-winning squad prior to hosting Yale tonight at Patrick Gym. Two other America East men's basketball teams are in action on the night before Thanksgiving as well.

Vermont (2-1), which is coming off a 66-55 win at Northeastern Saturday, hosts the Bulldogs in its home opener at 7 p.m. at Patrick Gym, where the Catamounts are 45-11 (.804) over the past four seasons. Prior to the game, UVM will honor last year's team, which captured the program's fifth America East title since 2003 and went on to pick up it's second-ever NCAA victory.

Also on Wednesday, Maine (0-3) will travel to Seton Hall in search of its first win of the season. That game tips at 7 p.m. New Hampshire (2-1) tries to improve to 3-1 for the second time in three seasons when it visits NJIT at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, Albany hit a program Division I-record 15 three-pointers in a 83-55 trouncing of South Carolina State. Mike Black led the way with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting. The Great Danes' 4-2 start is their best through six games since the 2007-08 season.

Also on Tuesday, Boston U. fell just short of upsetting the Big East's Rutgers, dropping a 81-79 decision. D.J. Irving scored a career-high 24 points in the loss. UMBC (1-3) got double-doubles from Ryan Cook (20 points, 10 rebounds) and Chase Plummer (10, 10) by fell to Central Connecticut State, 83-83 in overtime, on a pair of Blue Devil free throws with five seconds left in the extra session. Hartford (1-3) lost to La Salle, 64-51, despite getting a game-high 16 points and nine rebounds from Mark Nwakamma.
