Men's Hoops Teams Go 3-1 Saturday, Three Games Sunday Including Maine on ESPNU

After a Saturday that saw America East men's basketball teams go 3-1, three teams look to make it a winning weekend when they take the floor Sunday. All three contests tip at 4 p.m., highlighted by Maine visiting Florida State in a game that will televised nationally on ESPNU. The Black Bears (3-5), winners of three of their last four, are going for their third win against a BCS-conference opponent in the the last three years. Maine beat Boston College in January of 2010 and Penn State that December. Also Sunday, Hartford visits Fairleigh Dickinson and goes for its fourth win in five games, while UMBC travels to Norfolk State. On Saturday, Albany, New Hampshire and Vermont picked up wins, while Binghamton fell. The Great Danes (8-2) got 38 points from Jacob Iati (20) and Mike Black (18) to beat Colgate, 67-61, their fifth straight win and seventh in their last eight contests. The Wildcats (4-5) scored 21 of the game's first 28 points en route to a 64-56 win over Yale. Ferg Myrick recorded his second career double-double, scoring a career-best 24 points and adding 11 boards. The Catamounts (5-3) snapped their mini two-game skid by holding Quinnipiac to a season-low 46 points in a 53-46 win over the Bobcats. Brian Voelkel scored a season-best 14 points and added 11 rebounds for his sixth career double-double. The Bearcats (2-8) gave up 51 first-half points to Bryant in a 78-56 loss. Jordan Reed led Binghamton with 15 points.
