Four more of the conference's men's basketball teams return from holiday break and another plays for the second time in as many days with games on Saturday, including Hartford battling Colorado on the Pac-12 network. America East teams went 1-3 on Friday with Albany picking up a win. Maine will also play on TV, at Quinnipiac at 3 p.m. on NESN.
On Saturday, Hartford (7-5) goes for its sixth win in its last eight games when it takes on the Buffaloes in Boulder at 2 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on the Pac-12 Network. The Hawks’ 7-5 record is their best through seven games in 16 seasons and their seven non-league wins are their most since the 1989-90 season and second-most in their Division I history.
Also Saturday, Vermont (7-4) shoots for its fourth win in its last five games with it hosts College of Charleston at 2 p.m. The Cats have won 12 of their last 13 home games dating back to last season. Additionally, UMBC (2-10) visits Mount St. Mary's (2 p.m.), Maine battles Quinnipiac (3 p.m.) on NESN and Boston U. wraps up play at the UCF Holiday Tournament against Howard (5 p.m.).
On Friday, Jacob Iati scored a career-high 26 points to lead Albany to 71-61 win at Army, its seventh in its last eight games. Also Friday, Stony Brook (8-4) nearly upset the BIG EAST's Seton Hall, but fell 60-59, Binghamton fell at Colgate, 74-47, and Boston U. dropped a 64-48 contest to Belmont in UCF's tournament.
