CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- A pair of forwards who combined for double-doubles in three of their four games are this week's America East men's basketball award winners. The honorees for the week ending Jan. 20 were announced Monday afternoon.

Vermont's Clancy Rugg nearly averaged a double-double while leading Vermont to two wins and earned Player of the Week accolades as a result while Stony Brook's Jameel Warney picked up his seventh Rookie of the Week award of the season as he averaged a double-double last week.

Rugg (Burlington, Vt.) averaged 17.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in wins over Binghamton and Stony Brook last week to take home his first career Player of the Week award. The junior forward contributed 16 points and three rebounds in the Catamounts' 61-37 victory over Binghamton Wednesday, then had the best game of his career in Friday's 81-73 win over Stony Brook. Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) averaged a double-double of 13.5 points and 12.0 rebounds while also providing 1.5 blocks per game over a pair of contests last week en route to earning his seventh Rookie of the Week honor this season, tying him with three others for the second-most honors in league history. The freshman forward, who shot 61 percent from the field (11-of-18) for the week, had 12 points and 14 boards in a 75-48 win over Boston U. on Tuesday, then followed that showing with a 15-point, 10-rebound performance in a loss at Vermont Saturday.
