CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With the America East indoor track and field championships less than a week away, two New Hampshire Wildcats have claimed weekly honors. Kevin Greene and teammate Anne Twombly are joined by Justin Gagne of Maine and Albany’s Patricia McNish. For the men, Green has been named the Track Performer of the Week while Gagne has earned Field Performer of the Week honors. On the women’s side, Twombly is the Track Performer of the Week and McNish garnered Field Performer of the Week honors.

Green (Silver Spring, Md.) helped his squad to a second-place finish at University of Rhode Island Invitational. The junior paced the field of 24 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.71. That time qualifies him for the IC4A Championship and ranks as the second-best conference time this season. Coming off a pair of wins last weekend, Greene is running well as the America East Championship approaches.

In a victory against Holy Cross, Gagne (Biddeford, Maine) led the way by breaking his own school-record in the shot put. The senior won that event with an IC4A qualifying throw of 59’5”, which shattered his record by more than two feet. Gagne is the owner of the top shot put throw in the America East this season by more than four feet and is also 26th in the NCAA.

Twombly (Exeter, N.H.) helped New Hampshire to a fourth-place finish over the weekend. The junior won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.29. Twombly’s time qualifies her for the ECAC Championship and also ranks as the second-best America East time in that event.

McNish (Great Neck, N.Y.) had an impressive showing at the Armory Collegiate Invitational. In a field that featured multiple top 25 programs, McNish won the triple jump with a career-best leap of 40’4.75”. The senior’s jump ranks as the best in the America East and is in the top 50 nationally. McNish also had a 10th place finish in the long jump.
