Hartford (12-10, 5-4 AE) and Binghamton
(3-19, 1-8 AE) have already surpassed last season's win totals. The
Hawks, winners of two of their last three, have their most wins since
the 2007-08 campaign, while the Bearcats have more wins than last
season. Hartford holds a 13-11 all-time edge in the series and has won
three straight and four of the last five.
The game features two of the league's top young stars. Binghamton's Jordan Reed, a freshman, is second among league leaders in scoring (16.0 ppg) while Hartford's Mark Nwakamma, a sophomore, is fifth (14.6 ppg).
Two other games also take place Wednesday with Vermont (14-7, 7-2 AE) hosting New Hampshire (5-15, 1-7 AE) and Albany (17-7, 6-4 AE) visitin UMBC (6-16, 4-5 AE, winner of two straight. Both tip times are at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, Boston U. (12-11, 6-4 AE) moved into a tie for with Albany for third place in the league standings with a 79-72 win over Maine (8-15, 3-7 AE). The Terriers scored 48 first-half points and led by 16 at the break. Dom Morris led Boston U. with a career-high 20 points and seven boards. Xavier Pollard had a career-high 20 for Maine.
