UMBC men's soccer and Albany field hockey are both ranked among the top 11 teams in the nation this week.

The Retrievers, who are one just two unbeaten and untied teams in the nation, improved to 7-0-0 with wins over Navy and Loyola last week. As a result, UMBC climbed 10 spots in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's National Poll to #11. It's the highest an America East men's soccer team has been ranked since Hartford ended the 1996 season tied for 10th. UMBC ranks second in the country scoring 3.1 goals per game and is riding a 16-game unbeaten streak (13-0-3) dating back to last season.

The Great Danes, who are one of just four unbeaten teams in the country, held steady at#11 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, the program's highest-ever ranking. The reigning America East champions beat Siena, Lafayette and Lehigh last week to improve to 8-0 on the season, the program's best start since moving to Division I in 2001. Albany, which has outscored opponents, 37-6, this season, ranks second in the nation in team goals against average (0.75) and is third in goals per game (4.6).
