UNH Captures Pair of #AEVB Weekly Honors After 2-0 Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – New Hampshire took over sole possession of first place in the America East volleyball standings after being the only team to go 2-0 over the weekend in the fourth weekend of conference volleyball action. The wins gave the Wildcats two of the three week seven honors:

Player of the Week
Tori Forrest, So., New Hampshire
Powder Springs, Ga.

  • Led the America East with 4.67 kills per set while also ranking seventh with a .313. Also averaged 2.67 digs per set.
  • Only player to rank in the top-seven of both kills per set and hitting percentage.
  • Led New Hampshire to 2-0 record and sole possession of first place.
  • Recorded 10 kills and seven digs with a .207 hitting percentage vs. Providence.
  • Notched 18 kills on 38 swings for a .396 hitting percentage to go with nine digs in a straight-set win vs. Hartford

Rookie of the Week
Amanda Dolan, Fr., Albany
Manhattan, Ill.

  • Only player in the conference to rank in the top-10 in kills per set (8th at 2.90), hitting percentage (9th at .312) and blocks per set (5th at 0.89).
  • Helped Albany to a 1-1 weekend.
  • Registered 15 kills and five blocks with a .316 hitting percentage in a five-set loss to UMBC.
  • Totaled 10 kills and three blocks in a win over Stony Brook.

Setter of the Week
Taylor Dunklau, Jr., New Hampshire
Mukwonago, Wis.

  • Led the conference with 11.50 assists per set, helping New Hampshire to a 2-0 weekend.
  • Quarterbacked the Wildcat offense to a conference-best .268 hitting percentage last week.
  • Had 30+ assists in both matches, including 34 assists and eight digs in a win vs. Providence
  • Finished the weekend with 35 assists and seven digs with two aces in a straight-set win vs. Hartford.

Around the League

  • UMBC defeated Albany on the road for the first time in program history.
  • Five teams are tied with 3-2 records behind first-place New Hampshire at 4-1.
