Hartford Joins in on ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Hartford, Conn. - The University of Hartford Women's Basketball and softball teams as well as members of the cheerleading squad were on hand at the American Cancer Society's 21st Annual Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, October 19 at Bushnell Park in downtown Hartford.

In an effort to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer research the Softball, women's basketball and cheerleading teams applauded participants, including many breast cancer survivors, as they completed the five kilometer (3.1 mile) course. They also participated in a post event celebration at Bushnell Park.

The American Cancer Society hosts Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks in hundreds of cities across the country, including four total in Connecticut. The 2013 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday in Hartford saw nearly 4,000 participants and raised approximately $382,000 for the fight against Breast Cancer.
