UMBC, UNH Hit The Road Wednesday Night

UMBC and New Hampshire hit the road in the two women's basketball games on Wednesday night.

The Retrievers (1-0) make the short trip to take on cross-town rival Coppin St. for a rare midweek noon tip-off. UMBC is coming off a win on Monday, topping Eastern, 59-50. All five Retriever starters made their collegiate debuts in the game. Sara Tarbert was the most impressive, recording a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

New Hampshire (1-0) heads down to NJIT for a 7 p.m. tip. The Wildcats rolled past Worcester St., 77-30, in their season-opener. Corinne Coia went 8-for-11 from the field to score a game-high 16 points.

UMass Lowell (0-2) dropped to 0-2 with a, 90-77, road loss at Yale. The River Hawks continued to impress with their offense, becoming the first America East team since Stony Brook in 2005 to score 74+ points in their first two games of the season. Shannon Samuels scored a game-high 27 points, the most for an individual in the conference this season, to lead UMass Lowell.
