Five Men's Hoops Teams In Action Wednesday
Five America East men's basketball teams continue their seasons Wednesday, including Stony Brook at home vs. Northeastern, a game that can be seen live for free at AmericaEast.TV.
The Seawolves (2-0) are seeking to improve to 3-0 after posting wins over Marist and Haverford in their first two games.
Also Wednesday, Binghamton heads up the road to face Cornell, Hartford vistis Fairfield just 36 hours after playing at Florida Gulf Coast, UMass Lowell visits Boston U. and UNH goes to Duquesne in search of a 2-0 start.
On Tuesday, Albany and Vermont picked up victories. Albany (2-0) overcame a 10-point halftime deficit by shooting 58 percent after halftime en route to a 71-65 win over NJIT. The Great Danes, who improved to 2-0 for the first time since the 2005-06 season, got a career-high 20 points from DJ Evans.
Vermont (1-1) held Siena to just 33 percent shooting on its way to earning a 77-66 win, its first of the year. Clancy Rugg paced three Catamounts in twin figures with 19 points while Brian Voelkel had a double-double of 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
Also Tuesday, Maine allowed George Washington to shoot 58 percent in a 108-81 loss and Hartford shot just 4-of-23 from three-point land in a 65-51 loss to the Eagles.
