Stony Brook Tops Bradley Friday; Four Games Saturday
In a game that did not tip-off until after 10 p.m. ET, the Stony Brook Seawolves (2-1) notched an impressive win in the only America East women's basketball game on Friday night.
Stony Brook went on the road and topped Bradley, 83-79. The Braves were receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25. It was the first time since 2010 Stony Brook had scored over 80 points and was the highest point total under head coach Beth O'Boyle. Brittany Snow led Stony Brook with 30 points and nine rebounds, becoming the first Seawolf to eclipse the 30-point playeau since Mykema Ford on Jan. 10, 2007 against Boston U.
Four teams take the court on Saturday with all four games on AmericaEast.TV. UMBC (1-1) starts the action at 1 p.m. with a game against in-state rival UMES. Sara Tarbert looks to continue her streak of 20-point games for the Retrievers.
New Hampshire (2-0) puts its 2-0 record on the line against Northeastern at 2 p.m. UMass Lowell also tips-off at 2 p.m. against Holy Cross. The River Hawks are the first America East team since Stony Brook in 2005 to score 74+ points in their first two games of the season.
Coming off a, 64-59, win over North Dakota State in their season opener, the Maine Black Bears host Bryant at the new Cross Insurance Center at 6 p.m.
