Albany (4-0) won its 20th-straight regular-season game as part of Wednesday night's America East women's basketball action, defeating Cal State Fullerton, 71-49.
The Great Danes were led by Shereesha Richards for the third-straight game, scoring 22 points to go with six rebounds. Albany is up to No. 15 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll.
New Hampshire (2-2) lost a close, 53-52, decision at Central Connecticut State. The Blue Devils converted on a free throw after a foul on a rebound with one second remaining in the game to take the win. The Wildcats had fought back from a 13-point second half deficit to tie the game with 10 seconds to go. Kelsey Hogan led the way with 15 points while Kaylee Kilpatrick had her second double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
UMBC (1-3) lost its third-straight, 60-39, to American despite another standout performance from freshman Sara Tarbert. Tarbert had her fourth-straight double figure scoring game with 17 points to go with eight rebounds. The Retrievers started five freshmen in the contest.
Hartford (1-2) fell on the road to Providence, 79-53. The Hawks were led by a freshman in the scoring column for the third-straight game to start the year as Morgan Lumb had 11 points.
Stony Brook (2-1) plays the only game Thursday night as the Seawolves take on Fairleigh Dickinson at 7 p.m. The game will be available on NEC Front Row.
