Albany Tops PC For Best Start in Program History
Albany (6-0) went on the road to beat Providence College, 70-60, for the first 6-0 start in the program's Division I history on Wednesday night.
The Great Danes out-rebounded the Friars, 47-33, led by 13 rebounds from Tammy Phillips who also added seven points. Shereesha Richards led Albany in scoring for the fifth-straight game, pouring in 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting to go with nine rebounds. Megan Craig had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
UMass Lowell (0-6) fell to No. 10 Nebraska, 77-42, in the team's second-straight game against a top 25 team. The River Hawks out-rebounded the Huskers, 27-24, with freshman Kenya Stewart pulling down a game-high 11.
No teams play on Thanksgiving Day with five teams getting back on the court Friday.
