Just two America East men's hoops teams take the court Saturday as Albany and Binghamton are in action. The Great Danes host Colgate at 7 p.m., a game that can be seen on AmericaEast.TV, while Binghamton visits Monmouth for a 7 p.m. contest.
Albany (5-4) has won three of its last four games, including a 74-68 victory its last time out, at Brown Tuesday. The Great Danes have been paced by their defense as they lead the league in scoring defense, holding foes to 66.3 points per game.
Binghamton (2-7) looks for its second win in three games in its first action in a week. The Bearcats are youth driven as the team's top five scorers are underclassmen and freshmen combine for 60 percent of the team’s points. Sophomore Jordan Reed ranks second in the conference in scoring (16.6 ppg) and third in rebounding (9.8 rpg).
On Friday, Maine (1-8) dropped a 90-80 decision to Army. Xavier Pollard paced the Black Bears, scoring 19 points. He's led Maine in scoring in four of the six games he's played this season.
