Albany Hosts Quinnipiac As Part of 5 Games Sunday
Five America East women's basketball teams continue non-conference play on Sunday afternoon, including a battle between Mid-Major top 25 teams.
Albany (8-0) is off to a red hot start which has led the team to a No. 4 ranking in the latest Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The Great Danes welcome Quinnipiac, the No. 24 ranked Mid-Major team, for a 2 p.m. tip at SEFCU arena. The game will be available on AmericaEast.TV. Sophomore Shereesha Richards leads the America East in scoring and rebounding.
Hartford (2-8) is coming off a win over Maine in its conference opener and will host the SEC's Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. on AmericaEast.TV. A freshman has led the Hawks in scoring in seven of the team's first 10 games.
Maine (5-4) looks to bounce-back from a loss to Hartford in a road contest at Northeastern.
New Hampshire (4-4) visits Boston College for a 3 p.m. start, and UMass Lowell (0-10) continues a long road stretch at Central Connecticut in a contest that was pushed back to 4 p.m. due to the winter storm in the Northeast.
On Saturday, Binghamton (1-9) lost a road contest at Rider, 66-63, in overtime. Julia Barac had a double-double for the Bearcats with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Vermont (3-5) fell at Rhode Island, 63-50, despite a team-high 14 points from Kayla Burchill off the bench.
