America East, Partner On #AEHoops Showcase

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The America East Conference and are partnering to bring live broadcasts of select America East men’s and women’s basketball games to The “#AEHoops Wednesday Showcase” will feature eight of America East’s best matchups on throughout the months of January and February.

“Featuring live games on a site as popular as will further expand our reach as well as expose our programs and universities to college basketball fans who may not normally watch our games,“ said America East Commissioner Amy Huchthausen. “ This will supplement the great things we’re doing on AmericaEast.TV as we strive to expose the America East brand to a broader national audience.”

The “#AEHoops Wednesday Showcase” will feature four men’s and four women’s games and kicks off on Jan. 8 with Hartford visiting Stony Brook in women’s basketball action. Other matchups include Binghamton-Stony Brook men (Jan. 15), Albany-New Hampshire men (Jan. 21), Stony Brook-Albany men (Jan. 29), Binghamton-Stony Brook women (Feb. 5), Maine-Hartford women (Feb. 12), Vermont-New Hampshire men (Feb. 19) and Albany-New Hampshire women (Feb. 26).

All games will stream live from the AmericaEast.TV feed to’s site and be free to the user. Additionally, games will air in full HD and be available on smartphones and tablets through the viewer’s web browser.

“We are very excited to be working with the America East Conference,” said co-founder Angelo Lento. “We have always had good working relations with the conference members so we look forward to showcasing America East as part of our weekly ‘Live Games’ feature.”

The “#AEHoops Wednesday Showcase” continues a partnership that has flourished the last few years. Three America East teams have played in the Postseason Tournament in the past two seasons, while last year, Stony Brook’s Tommy Brenton, received the organization’s Lefty Driesell Defensive Player of the Year Award.
