Three WBB Conference Games Highlight Saturday

Release: 01/11/2014

After scattered games throughout the week, America East women's basketball enters its first full weekend of conference play with three games on Saturday.

All three of Saturday's games will be available live for free on AmericaEast.TV which can be watched as laptops and PCs as well as tablets and smartphones.

Two games tip at 1 p.m. ET, including Stony Brook (10-4, 1-0) at New Hampshire (6-7, 0-0) in a rematch of last year's thrilling America East tournament quarterfinal game. The Wildcats defeated the Seawolves on a shot at the buzzer by Kelsey Hogan with the game tied, sending New Hampshire to its first America East semifinal since 2005. Stony Brook is coming off a conference-opening win over Hartford, breaking a 17-game losing streak to the Hawks thanks to 20 points from Sabre Proctor.

UMass Lowell (0-12, 0-2) travels to UMBC (2-12, 1-1) at 1 p.m. in search of the team's first DI win. The River Hawks had Binghamton on the ropes on Tuesday night, but could not deliver the knockout blow behind a career-night from Lindsey Doucette who had 22 points and 14 rebounds. UMBC dropped its last game at Maine on Wednesday night on ESPN3, but won its conference-opener over the Bearcats last Sunday.

Maine (7-8, 1-1) is at Binghamton (4-11, 1-1) at 2 p.m. following its win over UMBC on ESPN3 on Wednesday night. The Black Bears hit 12 3-pointers in the game, including nine in the first half en route to the victory. Binghamton is coming off a come-from-behind win at UMass Lowell as the Bearcats erased a 17-point second-half deficit to win their first conference game of the year.
