Catamounts, Bearcats Grab Week 9 #AESD Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Vermont’s Christa Weaver earns her second award on the season this week, while Binghamton’s Kim Robertson is being recognized for the first time this season. Here’s a look at this week’s awards:


Swimmer of the Week
Christa Weaver, So., Vermont
South Burlington, Vt.

  • Swam to five victories, including four individual and one relay.
  • Posted two individual victories against Northeastern in the 50-free (24.76) and the 200-free (1:55.53).
  • Was part of the relay squad that raced to a first-place finish in the 200-relay, clocking in at 1:39.11
  • Won the 100-free in 53.20 against Dartmouth.
  • Tied for first in the 50-free with a time of 24.47.

Diver of the Week
Kim Robertson, Jr., Binghamton
Horseheads, N.Y.

  • Collected three wins over the weekend against Colgate and St. Bonaventure.
  • Tallied her first win of the season on the three-meter, scoring 222.07.
  • Swept the one-meter and three-meter boards against St. Bonaventure.
  • Posted scores of 208.74 and 220.73 on the one-meter and three-meter, respectively, to help the Bearcats collect 18 crucial points enroute to 180-120 triumph over St. Bonaventure.

Around the League

  • New Hampshire’s Katie Mann set a new pool record in the 200-yard breast stroke as the UNH women’s swimming and diving team topped Dartmouth, 166-134, clocking in at 2:16.65.
  • Mann also placed first in the 200-yard IM (2:06.34) and was a member of the top quartet in the 200-yard medley, which compiled a time of 1:48.00.
  • UNH junior Nicole Zahka collected a pair of fourth-place dives against Dartmouth, posting 216.22 points in the one-meter and 230.25 in the three-meter.
  • Maine’s Lauren Dywer notched two first-place wins against Bowdoin in the 50-free (24.63) and the 100-fly (1:00.19).
  • Black Bear Kara Caposela grabbed second on the boards, with scores of 254.82 and 269.92 in the one and three meters, respectively.
  • Binghamton’s Corinne Zotter raced to two victories in the 100-breast (1:06.64) and 200-breast (2:24.10) to help the Bearcats to two wins this weekend.
