UAlbany, UNH Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play
Two teams remain undefeated in America East women's basketball after play on Monday, as Albany (15-3, 5-0) and New Hampshire (10-7, 4-0) each earned wins.
Albany held Binghamton (4-14, 1-4) to seven field goals to earn a 66-36 road win against its in-state rival. Shereesha Richards recorded her 12th double-double of the season wiht 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Great Danes have won 28-straight conference regular-season games.
Senior captain Kelsey Hogan scored her 1,000th career point as the Wildcats defeated Vermont (5-13, 2-3), 60-45. Hogan finished with 14 points while Corinne Coia led New Hampshire for the third-straight game with 16. It was the sixth-straight win for the Wildcats.
Behind 22 points and nine rebounds from senior guard Chikilra Goodman, Stony Brook (13-5, 4-1) held on to beat UMBC (2-16, 1-5), 66-62, to start 4-1 in America East play for the first time since 2006-07. The win snapped a seven-game losing skid for the Seawolves against the Retrievers.
Amber Bepko scored a season-high 19 points to lead Hartford (5-13, 2-3) to an, 80-76, win over UMass Lowell on the road. The Hawks snapped a three-game losing streak in the conference, hitting nine 3-pointers and using a 44-32 advantage on the boards.
