Vermont, Stony Brook Meet on ESPN3 Thursday

America East women's basketball will be the featured on ESPN3 on Thursday night as Vermont (5-13, 2-3 AE) hosts Stony Brook (13-5, 4-1) at 7 p.m. at Patrick Gymnasium. The game will be one of four America East conference games on Thursday.

The Catamounts have won six of the last eight meetings, with the programs splitting the match-ups last season. Vermont is one of the top rebounding teams in the America East, ranking third with a +2.9 rebounding margin. The Catamounts have out rebounded opponents in 12 of their 18 games.

Stony Brook is the top free throw shooting team in the conference at 73.2 percent and is second in scoring at 65.5 points per game. Sabre Proctor leads Stony Brook in scoring (16.1 ppg-2nd in AE) and is averaging 6.0 rebounds per contest.

The final two unbeaten teams in conference play battle in a noon game as Albany (15-3, 5-0) hosts New Hampshire (10-7, 4-0) on Commitment to Education Day. Both teams enter the contest riding six-game winning streaks, the longest such streak for New Hampshire since 1998-99. The game is a rematch of last year's America East semifinal that saw Albany take a 71-57 win. The Great Danes have won five-straight match-ups in the all-time series, but the Wildcats still hold a 14-13 edge.

Hartford (5-13, 2-3) hosts Binghamton (4-14, 1-4) at 7 p.m. at Chase Family Arena. The two teams have met in each of the past two America East quarterfinals. The Bearcats won in 2012, 48-45, while the Hawks won last season, 68-53.

Maine (9-9, 3-2) travels to take on UMass Lowell (2-15, 1-5) at 7 p.m. at Costello Athletic Center. The game features two of the top scoring teams in the conference, with the Black Bears ranking third at 65.2 ppg and the River Hawks fourth at 64.3 ppg.
