CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - An America East men's basketball season that featured an influx of young talent concludes with a pair of underclassmen earning the final weekly awards of the 2014 season:

Player of the Week
Jordan Reed, So., Forward, Binghamton

  • Posted back-to-back 30-point efforts and averaged 31.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in two games last week.
  • Became first America East player to score 30 in consecutive games since Taylor Coppenrath in 2005.
  • Set a Binghamton Division I program record by scoring 33 points against Hartford Thursday and also added 13 rebounds.
  • Followed with a 30-point, 14-rebound effort against Vermont Sunday.
  • It's his fourth Player of the Week honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Troy Reid-Knight, So., Forward, Maine
  • Averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds as Maine went 1-1 last week. 
  • Just missed a double-double, scoring 15 points and handing out nine assists in the Black Bears' win over UNH Sunday.
  • Had six points, four rebounds and four assists in vs. UMass Lowell Thursday.

Around the League

  • The full America East Championship seeding and pairings were finalized Sunday. Full Bracket Release
  • Vermont, winner of 10-straight games and 17 of its last 19 games, is the No. 1 seed for the fifth time since 2002.
  • The Catamounts wrapped up a 15-1 conference schedule Sunday, becoming the first America East team to complete the season with just one league loss since the 2006-07 season.
  • UVM ended the season with a +20.9 scoring margin in conference play, the best mark in league history.
  • Stony Brook will be the tournament No. 2 seed, the fourth time in the last five years its been seeded second or better.
  • Hartford is the No. 3 for the second-straight year after winning six of its final seven games.
  • Albany is the No. 4 seed for the fourth-straight year and is one of just four programs to be seeded in the top four each of the last four years.
  • UMBC is the No. 5 seed, its best since 2008.
  • Binghamton, Maine and New Hampshire came in a t No. 6, 7 and 8, respectively.
  • UMass Lowell, which is ineligible for postseason play due to NCAA reclassifying rules, finished its first season in Division I 10-18 overall and 8-8 in America East play, good for fifth place in the league standings.
