After upsetting No. 2 seed Bucknell in the Women's Basketball Invitational first round, the seventh-seeded Maine Black Bears (17-14) travel to play No. 6 Fairfield (21-10) in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Black Bears won their fourth-ever postseason game, coasting to a 77-47 victory over Bucknell in the first round on Wednesday night. Maine, which leads the America East with 16.9 assists per game, recorded a WBI single-game record 28 assists against the Bison which also matched the team's single-game his this season.
Liz Wood scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Black Bears, hitting five 3-pointers. Maine continued to add to their America East single-season record with 12 3-pointers against Bucknell, giving the Black Bears 243 on the year.
The Fairfield Stags enter the second round of the WBI after edging Bryant in double overtime, 90-86 on Wednesday night. It appeared the Bulldogs were going to prevail but a last second trey by Alexys Vazquez tied the contest as time expired. With the win Fairfield now sits with a record of 21-10 overall, and a 15-5 conference mark playing in the MAAC.
