Binghamton's Nelson, Stony Brook's Rowe Earn #AEMLAX Weekly Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Albany, Binghamton and Stony Brook earned conference wins during the second weekend of America East play resulting in the Bearcat's Tucker Nelson and Stony Brook's Kyle Rowe earning the league's weekly awards Monday:

Player of the Week
Tucker Nelson, Jr., Attacker,Binghamton

  • Tallied 10 points in two games last week, scoring three goals and handing out seven assists.
  • Collected a game-high six points (2G, 4A) in Binghamton's 13-7 in over UMBC Sunday, with five of those coming in the second half.
  • Had one goal and three assists as the Bearcats nearly upset #8 Syracuse.

Rookie of the Week
Kyle Rowe, Fr., Midfielder, Stony Brook

  • Picked up 25 ground balls and won 73 percent of his faceoffs (.733) in two games last week.
  • Won 13-of-19 faceoffs in the Seawolves' win over Vermont Saturday. 
  • This is his second Rookie of the Week honor this season.

Around the League

  • Albany, Binghamton and Stony Brook earned win in their conference openers over the weekend: Recap
  • Stony Brook (5-7, 1-1 AE) outscored Vermont (5-5, 0-2 AE), 5-1, in the second quarter and 9-4 in the first three quarters to post a 10-7 win Saturday, its first America East win of the season.
  • With the game tied 2-2, Albany (5-5, 2-0 AE) scored nine of game's next 10 goals to beat Hartford (4-7, 0-2 AE), 15-11, Saturday and improve to 2-0 in America East play.
  • Binghamton (4-6, 2-0 AE) outscored UMBC (5-5, 1-1 AE), 9-1, after halftime en route to a 13-7 win and improved to 2-0 in league play.
  • Binghamton is 2-0 in conference play for the first time since 2007.
  • Lyle and Miles Thompson rank first and second nationally in points per game, averaging 6.5 and 6.0 respectively.
  • Lyle leads the country in assists while Miles is tops in goals.
  • Albany leads the nation scoring 14.9 goals per game.
  • Conference play continues Saturday with Albany hosting Stony Brook, Hartford visiting UMBC and Vermont entertaining UMBC.
