Four Players Garner #AESB Weekly Accolades

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Four softball student-athletes who helped lead their teams to wins last week are America East's weekly award winners this week:

Player of the Week
Danielle O'Neill, So., Utility, UMBC

  • Reached base 10 times in 13 plate appearances (.769 OBP) last week.
  • Hit .625 (5-for-8) and hit two home runs for a 1.375 slugging percentage.
  • Scored three runs and drove in four runs.

Co-Pitcher of the Week
Alexis Bogdanovich, Jr., Pitcher, Maine

  • Went 1-0 and did not allow a run in 9 2/3 innings of work last week.
  • Allowed just three hits, a league-best .091 BA against, while striking out seven.
  • Fired a three-hit shutout vs. UMBC on Saturday.

Co-Pitcher of the Week
Allison Cukrov, Sr., Pitcher, Stony Brook

  • Went 4-0 with a 0.88 ERA, surrendering just three runs over 26 innings.
  • Allowed just nine hits and fired three one-hitters.
  • Struck out 29 while walking only six.

Rookie of the Week
Elizabeth Snow, Fr., Outfielder, Albany

  • Hit .333 (8-for-24) to lead Albany to a 6-1 week.
  • Scored four runs and drove in a pair.
  • Had a pair of doubles.
Around the League
  • Albany and Stony Brook swept series last week while UMBC took two of three from Maine. Recap
  • Stony Brook holds a two-game lead on Albany in the conference standings.
  • Albany extended its conference-win streak to six games, outscoring Hartford, 22-2 over three games en route to a sweep.
  • Stony Brook outscored UMass Lowell, 17-2, to sweep the River Hawks over the weekend.
  • UMBC posted its first two league wins, taking two of three at Maine.
  • Brittany MacFawn became Albany's all-time strikeout leader and has 736 for her career.
  • This weekend UMBC visits Maine, UMass Lowell hosts Stony Brook and Hartford entertains Albany.
