Maine's Wood to Take Over AE Twitter Account

University of Maine junior women's basketball student-athlete Liz Wood will take over the America East Twitter account (@AmericaEast) Friday, August 15 through Sunday, August 17 as part of the #AETakeOver.

Wood, a native of Catlett, Va., started all 32 games for the Black Bears in 2013-14 and held the team earn its first postseason win since 1999, beating Bucknell in the Women's Basketball Invitational. Wood averaged 12.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while being named to the All-America East Second Team and the America East All-Defensive Team. 

Wood is the eighth America East student-athlete to take over the conference's Twitter account, following Binghamton men's basketball sophomore Marlon Beck II, UMass Lowell men's soccer junior Eric Chajon, Albany senior Sarah Royals, Stony Brook alums Josh Barry and Bryan Tatelman, New Hampshire's Abby Brinkman. Wood will have free reign over the the Twitter account, @AmericaEast, beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 15 and running through Sunday, August 17. All tweets from Wood will be tagged with #AETakeover.
