5 Softball Standouts Tabbed NFCA All-Region Honorees

Release: 05/19/2016

Five America East softball standouts earned All-Region honors from the NFCA, the organization announced Thursday.

Albany's Liz Snow, Binghamton's Griffin McIver and Jessica Rutherford and Maine's Erin Bogdanovich and Janelle Bouchard were all honored for their play throughout the season.

Rutherford and McIver, both first-team All-America East players, were recognized in the Mid-Atlantic region with Rutherford earning first-team honors and McIver second-team accolades.

Snow, the league leader in batting average, home runs and RBI, was a second-team All-Northeast Region choice while Bogdanovich and Bouchard, the America East Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively, were third-team members.

The All-Region teams honor softball student-athletes from the NFCA 10 regions with first, second team and selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2016 NFCA Division I All-American squads.

The 2016 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced at approximately 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 1, via NFCA.org.
