Tripp, Kopp Earn All-Region Honors

Release: 12/02/2016

University of Hartford women's soccer senior Tori Tripp and University at Albany sophomore Caroline Kopp were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast Region Teams.

A four-year midfielder, Tripp was a member of one of the most successful classes in Hartford women's soccer history and earned a spot on the All-Northeast Region Second Team

The honor from the NSCAA is the first for Tripp, who became the second Hartford player in program history to earn Midfielder of the Year distinction from the America East last month. She was also named to the America East All-Conference First Team this past season, marking the second-straight year she received all-conference recognition from the league.

In 17 starts and 19 appearances, Tripp, a native of London, England, totaled a career-high 15 points (5 goals, 5 assists), marking the second-most on the team behind Julia Carr's 17. She was dominant during conference play, as four of her goals and two of her assists came against America East opponents. Tripp finished the 2016 season ranked fifth in the conference in points, goals and assists.

During her time in a Hawk uniform, the Hawks amassed 45 wins while winning three-straight America East Regular-Season titles in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Tripp helped lead the Hawks to four postseason bids, including three-straight title game appearances.

For the second straight season, UAlbany defender Caroline Kopp earned a place on the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division I Women’s All-Northeast Region Third Team.

Last year, Kopp became the first ever UAlbany women’s soccer player to be placed on an NSCAA All-Region team.  In 2015, she was placed on the third team as well.

Kopp is one of 33 Division I players to be selected to the NSCAA All-Region Teams and was just one of two America East players on the squads as well.

The sophomore defender started all 20 games this season, helping UAlbany to its second straight America East Tournament title and first ever regular season league title.  The America East All-Conference First Team player tied for an America East-high six assists, adding a goal from corner back.

Regions for the NSCAA are divided into conferences.  The Northeast region includes the America East, the Big East, the AAC and the NEC.
