Purrier, Mitchell Named All-Americans

EUGENE, Ore. – After successful performances in the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, New Hampshire's Elinor Purrier and Albany's Adrian Mitchell were named All-Americans. 

Mitchell, a freshman who qualified for NCAAs with a throw of 212'10” in the prelims, finished 14th overall in the javelin. He earned Second Team All-America honors with a throw of 224'10" in the finals, which ranked second nationally among freshman.

Purrier, who had the nation's top time coming in to the 3000-meter steeplechase in Eugene, also finished with the top qualifying time in the semifinals at 9:50.51. She finished fourth in the finals with a time of 9:48.26 and earned First Team All-America honors for the second time this year.
