BOSTON - The
2008 America East Women's Lacrosse Championship gets underway on
Friday, April 25 with a pair of semifinal contests at Boston
University's Nickerson Field. All three games will video streamed and
be available online. Click on the links below to view a particular game. The
tournament begins at 1 p.m. when top-seeded Boston University hosts
fourth-seeded Albany. This contest will be produced by Boston
University All-Access and be available at GoTerriers.com for a cost of
$7.95. Watch The second
semifinal starts at 4 p.m. with No. 3 New Hampshire facing No. 2
Vermont. This contest will be produced by the University of New
Hampshire and the University of Vermont and will be available in the
America East Zone at AmericaEast.com free of charge. Watch The winners will meet in the conference title game on Sunday, April 27 at 1 p.m. The championship tilt will be produced by Pack Network and be available in the America East Zone at AmericaEast.com free of charge. The league champion will host the champion of the Northeast Conference on Saturday, May 3 for a bid to the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship. The
Terriers (14-2, 6-0 America East) have won 11 straight games and are
ranked eighth nationally in both the IWLCA Coaches' Poll and Inside
Lacrosse Media Poll. Boston U. is in search of its fourth straight
league title and sixth in the past seven years. The Great Danes (8-8, 2-4 America East) are making their fifth tournament appearance since joining the league in 2002. Albany knocked off top-seeded Stony Brook as the No. 4 seed to reach the finals of 2007 America East Championship. The Catamounts (8-8, 5-1), who
finished second in the league standings for the first time, are making
their first championship appearance since 2003. UVM's 5-1 conference
mark is its best-ever record in America East. The Wildcats
(12-4, 4-2 America East), are ranked 13th in the IWLCA Coaches' Poll
and 14th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. UNH is looking for its
