Lubezky, Gonet Earn Men's Soccer Honors

Alon Lubezky(Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel/Yovel Herzlia) of Hartford was named America East Player of the Week, while Binghamton sophomore Stefan Gonet (Refrewshire, Scotland/Trinity) was named America East Rookie of the Week. All honors were named on Monday, September 15.

Lubezky tallied four goals, including two game-winners, last week for Hartford. Lubezky accounted for one game-winning goal with just 50 seconds remaining as the Hawks downed Quinnipiac 2-1. He also scored the game-winner on a penalty kick to lift Hartford to a 1-0 win over Navy in the UMass Classic. In the final game of the UMass Classic he contributed two goals against Mercer and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Gonet turned in a pair of shutouts and 12 saves on the week for Binghamton. He helped to preserve a 0-0 tie to St. Francis, while he blanked Robert Morris in a 1-0 win.
