Sedrick Chin (St. Mary’s, Jamaica/Hotchkiss) of Boston University was named America East Player of the Week while Binghamton’s Stefan Gonet (Refrewshire, Scotland/Trinity) was named America East Rookie of the Week. The Week 6 men’s soccer awards were announced Monday, September 13, 2003.

Chin, a sophomore midfielder at Boston University, tallied seven points on the week. He scored two goals against New Hampshire and also had a goal and an assist against Northeastern, as the Terriers went undefeated on the week.

Gonet was honored as America East Rookie of the Week for the second time this season as he helped Binghamton go 1-0-1 against two conference opponents during the week. Gonet recorded three saves against UMBC to help preserve a 2-2 tie and later in the week recorded his eighth solo shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Albany. Gonet, who is only a freshman, is just two shutouts shy of the school record for most shutouts in a season.
