A week after both teams entered the national polls for the first time this season, Albany's field hockey and UMBC's men's soccer squads have each moved up this week.

The Great Danes, who are one of just six unbeaten teams in the country, moved up two spots to #11 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, the program's highest-ever ranking. The reigning America East champions beat Cornell and Rutgers over the weekend to improve to 5-0 on the season, the program's best start since moving to Division I in 2001. Albany, which has outscored opponents, 23-3, this season, leads the nation in team goals against average (0.60) and is fourth in goals per game (4.6).

The Retrievers beat Radford over the weekend to improve to 5-0-0 on the season and are one of just three teams in the country with a perfect record. UMBC moved up in three different polls, climbing two spots in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's National Poll to #21. The Retrievers also climbed seven spots to #17 in the Top Drawer Soccer Top 25 and three spots to #21 in the College Soccer News' Top 30. UMBC leads the nation scoring 3.2 goals per game and is riding a 14-game unbeaten streak (11-0-3) dating back to last season.
