Dwyer came to the conference office in September 2008 to
serve as a primary liaison for championships and sport administration
and coordinate the conference’s 20 championships. In this role, he
provides on-site championship management for men's soccer, cross country, swimming & diving, baseball and men's lacrosse and
works directly with those coaches groups. Dwyer also develops annual
conference schedule for selected sports, compiles annual RPI reviews,
coordinates scheduling for in-season and post-season events, and
administers regular season sports policies and standards for sports
other than basketball.
Dwyer spent
the previous year working for the ECAC, the largest collegiate athletic
conference in the country. After a year as an Asa S. Bushnell
Championships Assistant, Dwyer was hired as Director of Sport
Administration. In these roles, Dwyer assisted in the planning and
execution of over 90 championships across all levels. His duties
included coordinating the conference’s championship budget, securing
championship sites and acting as tournament director at select
championships. Before joining the ECAC, Dwyer completed an athletic
administration internship at Western New England College and was a
graduate assistant football coach at Springfield College.
A
native of Wakefield, Mass., Dwyer earned a bachelor’s in business
administration in 2001 from Stonehill College, where he was a standout
tight end on the football team. Dwyer also received a master’s in
athletic administration from Springfield in 2007.
