BOSTON - Hartford, New Hampshire and Binghamton each went unbeaten last week as the fourth week of women's college basketball came to a close. The Hawks earned victories over UMass and Sacred Heart to improve to 7-2, the team's best start since 2012-13. New Hampshire beat both Boston University and Northeastern, improving to 5-2 on the season, and Binghamton came from behind to beat Fairleigh Dickinson. Here are the week four award winners:
Player of the Week Carlie Pogue, New Hampshire, Jr., F, Cincinnati, Ohio
Averaged a double-double with 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats.
Was a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line during the week.
Had 13 points and eight rebounds in a win at Boston University.
Totaled 26 points on 8-for-13 shooting and 9-for-9 from the free throw line in a win over Northeastern. Also added 13 rebounds in the contest.
Rookie of the Week Sierra DaCosta, Hartford, Fr., G, Philadelphia, Pa.
Scored in double figures in each of Hartford’s wins last week, averaging 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26.5 minutes per game.
Recorded 11 points on Wednesday to lead Hartford to a 75-56 win over UMass, adding her first career block and an assist.
On Sunday, added 11 points and two steals while dishing out a career-high four assists in an 81-64 victory.
Has scored in double figures in each of her last five games.
