The Boston U. men and the Stony Brook women are the preseason favorites to win conference titles in 2011, the conference office announced today.
A unanimous decision to repeat as champions because coaches were not allowed to vote for their own squad, the Terriers received all eight possible first-place votes. Boston U. is also ranked sixth in the northeast region. Right behind them is Albany, which received the final first-place vote. The Danes are also ranked in the top-10 in the region checking in at No. 9.
On the women’s side, for the fourth consecutive year Stony Brook finds itself at the top of the preseason poll. The Seawolves collected six first-place votes and 62 total points as they begin their quest for a fifth straigt conference title. Boston U. grabbed the second slot, receiving two first place votes while last year’s runner-up, New Hampshire, received the final first-place vote and locked down the third spot.
