This season the league has once again captured some marquee victories as Vermont upset No. 22 Boston College in the title game of the URI Invitational. On that same day, Maine downed ACC-foe Clemson to win the Dead River Classic and give America East a 2-0 sweep of the ACC for the day. In addition, Hartford notched, yet another, win over a nationally-ranked opponent as they defeated No. 23 BYU..

While these teams enjoyed non-conference success, all of those records were cleared during the start of conference play. Nine teams with one common goal, winning the America East Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. Binghamton University will host the 2007 America East Women’s Basketball Championship at the Events Center from March 8-11. The Events Center is a spectacular venue for college basketball and the Greater Binghamton area is excited to host the women’s championship for the first-time in program history.
